How I Am Inspired to Create:
As an artist and medium, I am always observant of what is happening around me and how, through my intuition, I am always creating. Whether it is what I do each day, what I choose to think and believe, or what I make; I know that I am guided in those choices. This guidance is a continual conversation between God Source, my highest self, and my mind; and how much in alignment I am with that depends on how much I pay attention or distract myself with electronic amusements. This is why it is important, for me, to get outside to connect with the world in a way that is different than what my electronic gadgets may provide. Don’t get me wrong, I love my gadgets, yet there is nothing quite like taking a walk to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of our world, even the manmade ones. This is where it all starts for me.
Inspiration, to be in Spirit, comes at unlikely times, and so I always have my phone and notebook with me. I'm always ready to take a picture, record a note if I'm driving, or sketch something that catches my interest. Flashes of insight and inspiration usually come when I am enjoying doing something and am not really thinking at all. My mind has stepped aside, opening the door to let Spirit and God Source send me clues and ideas. Later, when I enter my studio, I gather these pictures, notes and sketches to see what I am called to create next.
Whether I am working on Healing Spirit Paintings, Soul Mandalas, Malas, Prayer Feathers, other Tokens of Spirit, or something totally new; I always start with setting my space up to receive what I am to know. I light a candle, some incense, strike my Tibetan bells to clear the space, and then set my intentions. I always come to an empty canvas, or other project, without expectation as to what the finished piece will be. Being born a Virgo this is counter intuitive, and yet, as I am learning to let go of that label, the letting go of expectation has become comfortable. Letting go of expectations helps me keep my mind out of the project, allowing inspiration to come in, and whatever is meant to be expressed, will be expressed.
How Art and Tokens of Spirit Carry Messages and Healing Energy
If you are drawn to this blog, then you already have a basic understanding that all things are energy. That even we have the ability to feel the energy and move it. There are energetic practices, such as Reiki, that allows a person to let energy flow through them to wherever they focus their intention, and attention, that balance and healing occur. Intention is a key word here for it is key in how the energy flows, and the quality of the energy. As a practitioner of Reiki, and a channel, intention is key for the clarity of the energy and any messages that are received.
Each piece of art or craft that is created with a healing intention, carries the energy inherent in the colors, symbolism, and images that arise. Colors, besides their initial effect of being cool, warm, or neutral; carry energetic properties. It is widely accepted that the color Red is considered a powerful color that symbolizes fury, anger, and passion. It is also the color of the Root Chakra and is considered grounding. Wearing Red can bring the wearer a sense of confidence and security. When it shows up in a painting, drawing, or a piece of jewelry, that same energy is present as well. The same is true for all other colors, symbols, images, stones, and crystals. There are accepted meanings to all these things that have been handed down from ancient times. Putting all these things together, along with any words that may be channelled, creates the complete message that the piece is meant to convey. What it all means will be known only when a piece is completed.
How I Create Each Piece With Intention to be Used and/or Worn.
Sacred ritual and intention are important when creating each piece. So I always start with clearing and setting the space for Spirit and God Source to come in. My main intention is always: “May this creation be filled with the highest healing energy available, with a clear message of its purpose, in the highest good of whomever receives it, and the highest good of All. With Love, Blessings, and the Golden Light of Grace. And So It Is.”. If the piece is a custom piece, then the person’s name will be included along with any questions or concerns they may have about a current situation. I then sit in stillness, until I am compelled to move and begin the act of creating.
Being a Reiki Master, after I clear the space and set my intention, I trace Reiki symbols over each piece to infuse the Reiki energy an open the door to the flow of healing energy. If I am drawn to my oracle cards, I may pull one to see if there is a theme being presented.
If I am painting, I put on music with a beat that propels me into motion and painting becomes a whole body experience as I begin making marks and layering colors on the canvas. Words may show up, and while they may not be seen in the finished piece, their energy and power are still present. Soul Mandalas, Malas, and other Tokens of Spirit require more soothing music. The colors, symbols, and images that come forth are not of my mind, but are those of Spirit, God Source, and other helpful Beings of the Light. These will be clues to the healing energy and messages that will emanate from each piece.
When the piece is complete, I strike a singing bowl to blend the energies, and smudge it with the light energy from my illuminated crystal wand. This protects the energy within the piece until it finds its new home. If this is a custom piece, I connect the energies in it to the person who requested it so that the healing may begin before they receive it. I then sit in silence again, gazing upon what has been completed so I may record the descriptions of the energies and messages that lay within.
Each piece comes with a card that describes the meanings of colors, crystals, stones, symbols, and images, along with how it may be used. Malas may be worn, carried in a pocket, and meditated upon. Healing Spirit Paintings, Soul Mandalas can be gazed upon and meditated with. After working with a Healing Spirit Painting, Soul Mandala, or Token of Spirit for awhile, if the recipient is not in the presence of the piece, all they need do is be still and bring it to their mind, and the energy will be there for them, knowing that the intention in its creation is always in their highest good.
My desire is to bring Peace and Calm to others as I have found within myself; and to show them how they may open the door to self-healing, self-empowerment, and authentic living. With the help and guidance of Spirit, God Source, and other Beings of the Light; the hope is that everyone will begin their own conversation with God Source and Spirit, and create the life they truly deserve.
