Most people, when they think of channeling, they think of a person speaking words, sometime even speaking in tongues. The truth is, channeling is not limited to channeling the words of Spirit. Channeling is really not even about being a conduit for a spirit, I'll talk about that in a little bit. Channeling has also been a part of creativity, and the creation of artworks. It is not only about expressing words, but is more about the energy of what is being expressed.
Creative expression is natural and a part of who you are. You may not realize it, but you are creating all the time. With every idea, thought, choice made, and action taken; you are creating your life. A lot of times, this is done unconsciously and on auto-pilot. As you begin to become more aware and tuned-in to who you really are, to you highest of Self; you become more conscious in your choices and action, and so does your creating. It is creating with intention or purpose.
You may be wondering: How do I know when I am channeling when I am creating or working on a project? Who am I channeling as I create? And, aren't channeling and mediumship the same thing? I will start with the last questions first.
First of all, channeling and mediumship are not the same thing.
Mediumship – I think of mediumship as a departed spirit wanting to make a “phone call” to a person in this world. The medium is like the phone and phone network. A medium opens his or herself up to a spirit by raising their energy level up toward the level of the spirit, and the spirit has to slow their frequency down a bit. It's like tuning in a radio, they have to be on the same frequency. The medium then lets the spirit share their energetic space, and then they convey the message of the spirit. The conversation, the agenda, is mainly that of the spirit wanting to make the connection. The message that comes through may not always be of a higher energy, or uplifting; and a medium must set some ground rules as to what kinds of spirits they will work with. The important thing here is, it is the Spirit that is making the call, and the medium is the connection to do it. It is not a co-creative process with the intention of raising the energy of all concerned. It is just about a spirit getting a message through.
Channeling – A more co-creative process that does not connect with recently departed souls. Channeling occurs at a much higher level, raises the energy of the channel, the work being created, and the message being sent. It is a joint effort, a combining of the creative energy of the channel at their highest level, and that of the source they are channeling. The result is always intended to be for the highest good of everyone and all things. The energies of Love and Light are infused into what is expressed.
When you channel, you are connecting you to your highest energetic level of Self, which is close in energy to the angelic realm, masters, teachers, Spirit and God Source. You may also connect to other Beings of Light that are trying to bring Light and Love to this world to help transform it into what would be “Heaven on Earth”. For me, I know that when I channel, it may be my Highest of Highest Self, Jesus, Buddha, God Source, or from the Council of Light. If you want to know, you may ask and if you are to know, you will be made aware of who you are channeling. For myself, I have asked at times, yet what I come away with is: it doesn't really matter whom or what I am channeling. What matters is the energy of the message and image is of the highest energy, and in the highest good of all.
There are 5 signs that can help you know that you have been channeling as you are working on a creative project. There may be more, but these are what I am to speak of at this time. As you read these signs, think of times when you have been writing or working on a project and see which of these resonates with your experience.
This is where channeling can be fun. It is something everyone, including you, is capable of, and does at times, unconsciously. Once you are willing to do some inner exploration, and self-healing, you can begin to channel in a conscious, intentional way. The process is about connecting to your Soul at the highest level, bringing forth Love and Light in a way that is meant to lift you and your world into higher lighter energy. And even if you don't work at creating a piece of art in any form, you can channel creative Spirit whenever you work on any project, and in any way you are meant to express it.
